Vote for a Local Veteran! Forrest Anderson Chooses Two Finalists for
“Military Hero AC Giveaway” Contest
2 weeks of Facebook voting, winner will be announced before Veterans Day
PHOENIX (October 23, 2017) – Forrest Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. (Forrest Anderson), a family-owned business in the Phoenix area since 1961, is excited to announce that two local military heroes have been selected as finalists for the company’s “Military Hero AC Giveaway” contest. Forrest Anderson wants to honor the men and women in our community who have served by donating and installing a new air conditioning unit for a local veteran or active military member.
People can vote for either of the two Valley veterans by logging on to the Forrest Anderson Facebook Page and casting their vote through Monday, November 6. Each person can vote once per day, per nominee. The winner with the most votes will be announced the week of Veterans Day, which is November 10.
“If we can make life a little easier for a local military hero and their family by replacing their old air conditioner, or installing a brand new one free of charge, that makes us incredibly happy,” said Audrey Monell, president of Forrest Anderson.
About the Finalists:
Sean Egger of Peoria received two Purple Hearts and an Army commendation medal with Valor during his deployment in Ramadi, Iraq. While he was deployed, Sean was shot in the head by a sniper. Fortunately his weapon, which was mounted in front of his face during the shooting, slowed the velocity of the bullet enough to keep it from penetrating his skull. Sean lived, and rejoined his brothers as soon as he was cleared. He now serves the community as a Peoria Police Officer.
Roy Chalmers of Surprise served as an infantry marine for 21 years, defending our country in Desert Storm, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Upon returning from deployment, he was forced to commute from California to Arizona every weekend to be with his family. On the drive to Arizona, he would often encounter stranded motorists and always stopped to help them, continuously making sacrifices to help others. Roy retired from the military, but became a Phoenix Police Officer in 2008 where he continues to guide young men, protect, and serve.
The generous donation is made possible in part by Sigler Wholesale Distributors, which is providing a Carrier 14 Seer Heating and Cooling system, Empire Metal Products, which has graciously donated the sheet metal, and Smiley Crane Service.
